What to watch for Wednesday

1. Boys basketball - South Park at St. Joe's, 6:30 p.m.

Honorable mention large schools square off in a nonleague matchup. The Sparks (3-2 UPDATE) beat/lost to East in a Yale Cup game yesterday. The Marauders (3-3) most recently lost a 66-59 game to Christian Brothers Academy of Syracuse on Sunday.

2017-18 Boys basketball preview: Returning All-WNYers, key dates & what's new?

2. Girls basketball - Wilson at Akron, 6:30 p.m.

No. 9 small school Wilson (3-2, 0-1) heads to Niagara-Orleans League rival Akron (4-2, 0-0). The Lakewomen have lost their last two against Newfane and Grand Island since opening with three wins. This is the first league game for the Tigers, who are winners of their last three.

2017-18 Girls basketball preview: Outlooks for every division

3. Boys hockey - Starpoint vs. West Seneca East, 6 p.m.

Defending Section VI small schools champ West Seneca East (3-0) looks to stay undefeated in league play against Federation newcomer Starpoint (2-1) at the Hockey Outlet in North Tonawanda.

- Girls basketball: Medina at Mount St. Mary, 6:30 p.m..
