Comedy on Tap: Radio hosts comedy night, Ryan O'Flanagan, Comics Against Humanity

As 2017 comes to a close, there are several great comedy options to enjoy in the area this week.

A pair of local radio personalities will team up for a night of stand-up at Rob’s Comedy Playhouse. Club owner and 97 Rock morning show co-host Rob Lederman, a veteran of the local comedy scene who has jokes for every scenario and audience will headline the show. Joining him will be James Kurdziel, program director and daytime host for 103.3 The Edge, who has opened for top nationally touring acts. The comedians will perform at 8 p.m. Dec. 23 at Rob's Comedy Playhouse (1340 North Forest, Williamsville). Admission is $10. Info:

Los Angeles comedian Ryan O’Flanagan will headline five shows at Helium Comedy Club. O’Flanagan is a member of the sketch group Dead Kevin, which has been featured on the popular Comedy Central show “Tosh.O.” O’Flanagan has also appeared on the shows “American Vandal,” “New Girl,” “Adam Devine’s House Party” and voiced a role on “American Dad!” The comedian will perform at 8 p.m. Dec. 21 and 7:30 and 10 p.m. Dec. 22 and 23 at Helium Comedy Club (30 Mississippi St.). If you’re a fan of “Cards Against Humanity,” get ready for a unique take on the game. Local comedian Rick Matthews hosts “Comics Against Humanity,” where a dozen stand-ups are set to improvise their entire set based on the cards picked from the game. This month’s show features Josh Potter, Cody Colin Chase, Shaun Murphy, Nora Hurley, Clayton Williams, Jameel Key, Julia Solomon, Allie Brady, Dan Fisher, Brandon Trusso and Jen O’Donnell.
