Bills-Patriots forecast: Temperatures in the 40s, chilly breeze

As of Tuesday afternoon, here is Don Paul's look at the weather for Sunday's Buffalo Bills-New England Patriots game at Gillette Stadium.

CAUTIONARY NOTE: As of this writing, computer models are in poor agreement for both wind and for any rain chances.

TAILGATE FORECAST: Mostly to partly cloudy, a chilly breeze is possible. Rain should have ended before sunrise, but there is still some uncertainty. 8 a.m. temperature: 40, rising to mid-40s by midday.

GAME TEMPERATURE: 44-47.

WIND: NW: 10-15 (again, some computer guidance indicates higher wind speeds than this, so there is more uncertainty than usual).

PRECIPITATION: 20 percent chance of showers early in the day, None by midday or during the game.

FORECAST: Mostly to partly cloudy with somewhat above average temperatures.

WHAT TO WEAR: A few layers, rain gear is currently seen as unnecessary. At least slight wind chill, but weather is unlikely to be a major factor in this game. There will be higher certainty in this forecast later in the week.
