Terry and Kim Pegula's company won city approval Monday for some modifications to their planned Labatt House brewery building at 79 Perry St.
Pegula Sports & Entertainment used archived photos and records to change the appearance of the windows and doors along the ground-floor retail and commercial space on Perry Street.
That provides "a little better baseline," because "we wanted it to look much more period-proper," said architect Steve Carmina of Carmina Wood Morris PC.
The proposal now includes a balcony on each floor on the alley side, for use by commercial tenants including North American Breweries, which owns Labatt USA, the building's lead occupant.
Crews have already been working on the exterior, stripping paint from the brick facade. Window replacement will begin in six weeks.
