Robert E. Draper, a Level 3 sex offender from Niagara Falls, was sentenced Friday to a year in the Niagara County Jail for failing to visit Police Headquarters every 90 days to re-register, as required by the state Sex Offender Registration Act.
Level 3 is the considered the most serious of the three categories of sex offenders. Draper, 57, of Ashland Avenue, was placed on that list after his 1996 conviction for having sex with an 11-year-old girl. He served almost seven years in state prison for first-degree sexual abuse.
"Maybe next time you'll remember to register," State Supreme Court Justice Richard C. Kloch Sr. told Draper.
