A second-time felon from Lewiston will serve a year in Niagara County Jail for growing marijuana in his home.
Mark J. Light, 28, of Model City Road, was sentenced Thursday for a reduced charge of attempted second-degree criminal possession of pot.
Assistant District Attorney Peter M. Wydysh said police seized 6.53 pounds of marijuana when they raided Light's home July 24, 2016.
"You've had chances in the past and you haven't addressed the problem," County Judge Matthew J. Murphy III told Light in rejecting the possibility of probation.
Light's record includes a robbery conviction for holding up a Town of Niagara gas station in 2006.
