NT residents charged in Tonawanda liquor store theft

Two North Tonawanda residents have been charged with stealing liquor bottles from a liquor store in the City of Tonawanda, police said.

Benjamin R. Rupert, 24, and Angeline M. Bendelow, 26, both of Oliver Street, were charged Wednesday with petit larceny following the Dec. 2 theft at Isle View Fine Wines & Spirits, 533 Niagara St., according to City of Tonawanda police.

On Dec. 7, police released surveillance images and asked the public for help identifying the suspects. Police received multiple tips, said Capt. Fredric Foels.

Rupert and Bendelow are due back in Tonawanda City Court on Jan. 2.
