Lewiston man charged with DWI after early morning crash

A 24-year-old Lewiston man faces a driving while intoxicated charge following a one-vehicle crash early Thursday morning, according to Lewiston police.

The crash happened just after 1 a.m. on the 2300 block of Upper Mountain Road, police said.

Troy J. Poitras failed field sobriety tests and registered a blood-alcohol content of .10 percent, according to police, who said Poitras' driver's license was suspended because of a 2016 conviction for driving while ability impaired.

Poitras was also charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, according to police.
