Joyce R. Schultz, 91, died Saturday in Elderwood of Williamsville, after complications from Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases.
Mrs. Schultz, a homemaker, artist and mother of five, was also an avid reader of art and science books.
The former Joyce Johnson was a native of Jamestown and had lived in the Western New York area all of her life, including the past seven years in Lancaster.
She graduated from Olean High School in 1944. She worked for the Olean Tile Company from 1944 to 1947 and as a display artist for Bigelow's department store in Jamestown from 1947 to 1951.
She was predeceased by her husband of nearly 50 years, Roland W. Schultz, who died on Sept. 18, 2000.
She is survived by two sons, Kenneth and Darrell, and three daughters, Marlene Murphy, Karen Schultz and Dianne Ulrich.
Mrs Schultz gifted her body to the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.
A celebration of her life will be held at 4 p.m. Dec. 16 in the home of her daughter, Dianne Ulrich, 9 Nicholas Lane, Lancaster.
