A member of the Schuele Boys street gang was sentenced to time served on his conviction of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine.
Demario James, 35, of Buffalo served more than 40 months in prison.
James conspired with Michael Robertson and other Schuele Boys gang members and associates to distribute cocaine in Buffalo. Prosecutors said James purchased cocaine from Robertson and then broke down the cocaine for distribution to customers.
The Schuele Boys gang, which operated in the Schuele Street area on the city's East Side, is believed by authorities to have been responsible for multiple acts of violence, along with the distribution of illegal narcotics that include cocaine, crack cocaine and marijuana.
James is one of 28 Schuele Boys gang members, associates and others who were arrested in the case. To date, 27 have been convicted, according to the U.S. Attorney's office.
