LOOKING AHEAD – Mary Jane Jakubowski, director of the Buffalo and Erie County Public Library, will give “Updates on the Library and Buffalo’s Reading Park” at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in the IMAGINE Buffalo lunchtime lecture series in the Ring of Knowledge on the main floor of the Central Library on Lafayette Square in downtown Buffalo.
The program begins at noon with a Great Courses video on “The World’s Greatest Paintings.” Admission is free. You can bring a lunch or purchase one at the library’s Fables Cafe. The series is sponsored by the Center for the Study of Art & Architecture; History & Nature.

SEASONAL SURVIVAL – Today is the deadline for reservations for the annual St. Mark’s Lutheran Church Women’s Ministry Christmas luncheon at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in the school gym. Cost is $10.

UPGRADING – Boys who want to be considered for admission and scholarships at Bishop Timon-St. Jude High School will need to take the scholarship and entrance exam from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday in the school at 601 McKinley Parkway. CALLING VETS – Veterans interested in the Disabled American Veterans organization are invited to attend the next meeting of DAV Roll of Honor Chapter 120 at 6 p.m. Thursday downstairs in the Milton Brounshidle Post, 3354 Delaware Ave., Town of Tonawanda. Access is via the side entrance. An elevator is available at the back of the building.

All paratroopers are welcome to attend the next meeting of the Niagara Chapter of the 82nd Airborne Division Alumni at noon Saturday in West Seneca Post 735, American Legion, 35 Legion Drive off Union Road. Email or bring a copy of your DD-214.
