A toy gun exchange is set to begin at 5 p.m. Friday at the Delavan-Grider Community Center, 877 East Delavan Ave., and will continue until Dec. 22.
In exchange for bringing in a toy gun, participants will receive a non-violent toy or other item, according Leonard Lane, president of the Buffalo FATHERS Group.
"In light of so many young adults getting shot in our nation, we want to encourage families not to purchase toy guns, swords and other violent toys during the holiday season for their children," Lane said. "We will be giving out board games, basketballs, footballs, books, fishing poles and skateboards."
