Florida investment firm buys Akron mobile home park

A Florida firm that specializes in mobile home investments has acquired a complex in Akron for $3.77 million.

Sunrise Capital Investors of Clearwater, Fla., bought the Akron Mobile Home Park at 2 Wesley Drive, off Bloomingdale Avenue on the edge of the village. The seller, Akron Mobile Home Park Inc., is controlled by the Doll family.

The 26.9-acre property is assessed at $2.264 million.

Sunrise focuses on buying underperforming, distressed or mismanaged mobile home parks within 40 miles of a metropolitan area with at least 100,000 people, particularly in the Eastern and Southeastern United States, according to its website. The company says it has acquired 570 units.
