Dweezil Zappa to celebrate late father Frank at UB

After a protracted – and unfortunate – battle with the Zappa Family Trust over the right to perform beneath the moniker "Zappa Plays Zappa," the oldest of late composer Frank Zappa's two sons has opted to trade beneath his own name. Dweezil Zappa has announced that he will be launching a tour that will include an April 18 stop at University at Buffalo's Center for the Arts.

Dubbed the "Choice Cuts! World Tour 2018," the show will continue Dweezil's decade-plus stint as child curator of his father's musical legacy. In a press release, Dweezil called the career-spanning celebration of his father's oeuvre a “protein-enriched program designed to create new awareness of the depth and variety of my dad’s music.”

Tickets go on sale Dec. 1 at 10 a.m. via and at noon at the box office. Prices are $39, $44, $54 and $64 for general admission and $89 VIP (including premium seating, meet-and-greet).
