In the largely futile debate to determine America's Best Sports City, the folks at WalletHub.com have released a ranking of 420 large to midsize cities using 50 metrics, according to a news release.
The metrics include performance of the city's teams to ticket prices with weighting given based on interest level in five sports: football, basketball, baseball, hockey and soccer.
Buffalo ended up third among mid-size cities behind Green Bay and Cincinnati, and 26th overall. Boston, New York and Los Angeles took the top three spots overall.

According to the study's sport-by-sport rankings, Buffalo came in 21st for football; 120th for basketball; 75th for baseball; ninth for hockey; and 123rd for soccer.
