It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas on Hertel Avenue.
For the first time many can remember, Hertel Avenue will have a community holiday tree, said Delaware District Common Council Member Joel P. Feroleto.
The 40-foot tree was delivered this week from a farm in Eden and installed at 1391 Hertel Ave., next to St. Margaret’s Church, Feroleto said.
A tree lighting ceremony will be held at 5:45 p.m. Thursday, followed by the actual tree lighting at 6:15.
The Buffalo Seminary Semachords will provide holiday music during the free event. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be on hand for photos, and light refreshments will be served, Feroleto said.
Janne Siren, director of the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, and Mary Roberts, executive director of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Darwin Martin House, will serve as honorary tree lighters.
