Buffalo is top-rated market for Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

Everybody in Western New York loves a parade.

Or at least it seems that way when you look at the rating for NBC's coverage of Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

According to WGRZ-TV (Channel 2), the parade had a 22.0 household rating here, which made it the highest-rated NBC affiliate in the country.

The station added it was the highest-rating here for the parade in at least 15 years and was watched by more than 130,400 WNY households.

Channel 2 added it was the highest-rated non-sports program in Buffalo in the past year.

Buffalo Bills games typically get ratings in the 30s. The highest-rated prime time programs here, CBS' "The Big Bang Theory" and NBC's "This is Us," get ratings in the high teens up to seven days after they air.
