Dec. 2-3: Historical Association celebrates 13th Annual Lewiston Tour of Homes

The Historical Association of Lewiston’s signature event, the Lewiston Tour of Homes, will kick off the holiday season this Dec. 2-3.

Tickets are on sale now for the 13th annual event as the tour showcases six spectacular homes throughout Lewiston, all masterfully decorated for the holidays.

Ticketholders can travel from house- to-house to see the latest trends in holiday decor. Each home features a tablescape offering innovative entertaining ideas. One of the featured homes is Stella Niagara (pictured on the cover), nestled along the winding Niagara River and home to the Sisters of St. Francis.

Ticketed visitors can partake in dessert samplings and a cocktail reception at the Niagara Crossing Hotel & Spa. Sample sweets from DiCamillo Bakery and the Niagara Culinary Institute and enjoy a poinsettia cocktail, compliments of Third Street Liquors and Wegmans of Niagara Falls.

While sipping your cocktail, take a moment to browse the holiday vendor market with a unique sampling of gifts and treats for everyone on your list.

Also included in the ticket price are additional bonus stops. The First Presbyterian Church of Lewiston, currently celebrating their bicentennial, will have their historic chapel decorated for the holidays.

Tour of Homes ticket holders can also explore the Lewiston Museum, which will be adorned for the season, and will include a hot cocoa tasting. Shop for locally themed books, ornaments, and many Lewiston treasures here too.

At Lewiston’s famous historic tavern, the Lewiston Stone House enjoy a special mulled wine sampling.

The Tour of Homes is a self-guided tour. The Polar Express Trolley service will once again be available from the Lewiston Village Hall, 145 North Fourth Street in Lewiston. Four trolleys will be making a continuous circuit between all homes and bonus stops.

This year’s decorators include some past ticket holder favorites as well as new designers full of holiday inspiration. The homes will feature the talents of Donna Moxham, Linda Radford, Margie Mokhiber of MAM Development Inc., Elizabeth “Betty” Lamacchia of California Closets, Jessica Wangelin of Decor Adventures, and Caroline Barr of Caroline Design.
Zach Collister, President of the Historical Association of Lewiston, noted how grateful he is to those who are opening their homes for the tour.

The fundraiser represents more than 40 percent of the Historical Association’s operating budget.
“All of us at the Association are incredibly excited to offer the most exciting home tour in years,” said Mr. Collister. “With six homes, additional bonus stops, and a Holiday Vendor Market, the Tour of Homes is a great way to kick off the holidays in Historic Lewiston.”
