Winter parking rules along city bus routes in Buffalo are being suspended until Dec. 1, in part because the weather is forecast to be unseasonably mild and also to boost patronage in neighborhood shopping districts.
"This is good for business in the city, and it's good for residents," Buffalo Mayor Byron W. Brown said Tuesday in the 500 block of Delaware Avenue.
The weather is going to be mild for about another week, Brown said.
"And because of that, we are going to further expand the winter parking regulations on bus routes in the city… moving those regulations back for enforcement until Dec. 1," he added.
The mayor also announced that parking will be free Friday at all metered spaces located in shopping districts in the city. It coincides with Black Friday, recognized as the busiest shopping day of the year .
