Local breweries offer Black Friday deals

On the day after Thanksgiving, take a break from shopping to enjoy some beer - or just buy beer to give as holiday gifts.

Here are some of the events to check out on Nov. 24.

Thin Man Brewery (492 Elmwood Ave.) will release bottles of its Forever Cordial, a collaboration with 3 Sons Brewing from Dania Beach, Fla. The beer is a 14.2 percent ABV imperial stout with black cherries and cocoa nibs.

Bottles will be sold starting at 3 p.m. in 500 ML format for $15. About 600 bottles will be available, with a limit of six per customer. Also available is Apple Brandy Barrel-Aged Forever Cordial, aged in BFLO Distilling barrels. There will be about 100 bottles at $20 each; limit one per customer.

Other beers available on tap when the brewery opens at 11 a.m. include Speculoos Cookie Stout (12.3 percent ABV imperial stout brewed with brown sugar, cinnamon, clove, cardamom and anise), vanilla cocoa latte stout (11 percent ABV imperial stout brewed with lactose, vanilla and cocoa nibs in collaboration with Chow Chocolat), and Fort Lauderdale Mega Snake (9.2 percent ABV second runnings version of Forever Cordial featuring Mosaic hops, no crowler fills available). More special beers will be on tap as well. Call 923-4100.

Buffalo Brewpub (6861 Main St.) and 12 Gates Brewing Company (80 Earhart Drive) will release their collaboration beer, Buffalo Breakfast Stout.

The 6 percent ABV stout was brewed on Buffalo Brewpub’s extract system using a steeped grain infusion created at 12 Gates using oats, chocolate from Antoinette’s in Depew, coffee from Kornerstone Coffee in Kenmore, maple syrup from Stony Acres Maple Farm in East Aurora and bourbons from Buffalo Distilling and Five & 20. The beer will be on tap at both locations on Nov. 24. Call 632-0552.

Community Beer Works (15 Lafayette Ave.) will re-release its Thick and Sticky double IPA (India pale ale), originally brewed for beer distributor Remarkable Liquids’ fifth anniversary. The tap list at the brewery will be taken over by stouts and porters, including some from Remarkable Liquids’ portfolio.

Bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate and get $2 off pints for the entire night. If you don't bring a toy, prices will increase by $1.  All toys and extra money will go to the Matt Urban Hope Center. Call 759-4677.

Flying Bison Brewing Company (840 Seneca St.) will hold a Friendsgiving Food Drive for the Food Bank of WNY from 4 to 8 p.m. Each bag of non-perishable food donated gets customers a free drink. Live music will be by trioPAYAZZO. Call 873-1557.

Rusty Nickel Brewing Company (4350 Seneca St., West Seneca) will offer buy-one, get-one free Bloody Marys, Beermosas and Mimosas from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Call 608-6155.
