Another coffee vendor with a local flavor will perk its roasted beans on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus soon.
Golden Cup Coffee Co. will be the exclusive coffee offered in the cafe of University at Buffalo's Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences building when it opens in January to students, the university confirmed.
The university also serves Golden Cup Coffee at two sites on its South Campus at Main St. Market in Goodyear Hall and at Harriman Café.
"We're excited about the opportunity to be a part of it," said Larry Stitts, co-owner of Golden Cup with his wife, Jacqueline Stover Stitts."We're a state certified minority business and part of the university's diversity program. We roast and package on Jefferson, just three to four blocks from the new medical school."
Golden Cup will roast and package the coffee for the medical school, he said, while the university runs the cafe. It is the same structure in place at the other university South Campus locations where their coffee is sold.
