Buffalo man charged with felony DWI in Cheektowaga

A Buffalo man with a prior conviction for driving while intoxicated was charged with felony DWI Wednesday morning in Cheektowaga, according to the State Police.

Jerry Williams, 39, was pulled over for speeding at 2:14 a.m. on the Kensington Expressway, police said.

Williams showed signs of intoxication and was taken into custody. He refused to submit to a breath test at the Buffalo barracks, troopers said.

In addition to felony DWI, troopers charged him with operating a leased or rented vehicle without an interlock device, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, as well as vehicle and traffic violations, police said.

His prior DWI conviction came within the last 10 years, police said. He was released on bail and is scheduled to appear in Cheektowaga Town Court on Nov. 29.
