If you would like to serve on a police oversight panel, City Hall wants to hear from you.
The Common Council's Police Oversight Committee is accepting applications for seats on its community advisory body.
The role of the advisory group - which is expected to begin its work in early 2018 - includes meeting with the public and Buffalo Police Department officials as well as advising and making recommendations to the Oversight Committee to strengthen community-police relations.
The committee is looking for city residents who bring expertise in policy and community relations. An ability to work with the general public and police officers is required to ensure productive discussions and recommendations, said Niagara District Common Council Member David A. Rivera, chairman of the committee.
To apply, send a resume and letter of interest to Rivera at 1504 City Hall, Buffalo, NY 14202; fax 851-4970; or email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The deadline is Dec. 1.
