Buffalo Bills receiver Kelvin Benjamin suffered a right knee injury on the Bills' first drive Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers and was ruled out for the game.
Benjamin, acquired on the Oct. 31 trade deadline, was playing in his second game with the team. He grabbed for the back of his right knee after appearing to hyperextend it while being hit on a clean tackle.
Benjamin was helped off the field by trainers but had to be carted to the locker room. He was announced out for the game shortly after.
Coach Sean McDermott said after the game that he had no update on Benjamin and that he was being evaluated.
Benjamin missed the 2015 season after tearing an ACL in training camp, but that was in his left knee. He aggravated that injury earlier in the season against New Orleans but did not miss time the following game against New England.
Jordan Matthews is also out for the Bills, leaving Zay Jones as the team's top receiver. The score was tied 0-0 at the time of the injury, but the Chargers scored on an interception return two plays later.
