Get yourself ready for today's #PrepTalkLive action with everything you need to know about the day ahead in high school sports.
What to watch for Friday
1. Football - NYSPHSAA Class A & D semifinals at Union-Endicott High School
Winners advance to next weekend's state finals at Syracuse University's Carrier Dome.
Class D: Maple Grove vs. IV-Tioga, 4 p.m.
The Red Dragons routed state No. 1 V-Clyde-Savannah last week. Now they go for the No. 2 ranked team this week to earn a trip to their second straight championship game. Tioga won the state title in 2015.
Class A: West Seneca West vs. III-Whitesboro, 8 p.m.
Every next step is unchartered territory for West Seneca West, but the Indians are in capable hands with star QB Matt Myers at the helm. He accounted for 425 all-purpose yards and had a hand in five TDs last weekend. Whitesboro, meanwhile, lost to V-Greece Athena in this round last season.
2. Girls swimming - NYSPHSAA Championships at Ithaca College
The best swimmers from the state compete in the first day of the two-day meet. Swimming prelims start at 10:30 a.m. with the top times advancing to Saturday's finals starting at 10:30 a.m. Diving starts at 2 p.m. and will be completed all on Friday.
Today's schedule can be found at our high school scoreboard.
