The Niagara Falls date of the Mariah Carey "All I Want for Christmas is You" tour is among those canceled by the singer because of illness.
“Lambs! Just in time for the holiday gift-giving season, it seems I’ve received a present of my own; a lovely upper respiratory infection after last week’s flu. Bleak!” Carey wrote on Twitter shortly after 5 p.m.
“You know there is nothing I love more than celebrating the holidays with my festive Christmas show, but I have to take my doctor’s orders and rest until he says I can sing on stage. Until then, unfortunately, I have to cancel the first several shows of my upcoming Christmas tour,” Carey wrote in her tweet.
The tour was scheduled to begin Friday in The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor in Windsor, Ont. She was going to perform Nov. 21 at the Seneca Niagara Casino Events Center. Refunds will be available at point-of-purchase. See senecaniagaracasino.com.
Carey’s website indicates that her tour now will start Nov. 27 with six concerts at the Beacon Theatre in New York City and end Dec. 22 in Las Vegas.
