City of Tonawanda barbecue restaurant Smoke on the Water is not closing.
The restaurant, 77 Young St., was recently listed for sale on a real estate website. That listing is an effort to attract a business investor, and potentially franchise into more locations, said Kevin Richert, who owns the place with brothers JJ and Mark.
"We're going to continue to serve great food every day," JJ Richert said. "We are absolutely not closing."
Booking events, catering, gift certificates and other standard restaurant functions also remain unaffected, Kevin Richert said. "It's business as usual, 100 percent."
The Richerts opened Smoke on the Water in 2012. The restaurant has a dock where Ellicott Creek boaters can tie up and have dinner on the deck.
