The Buffalo Bills' quarterback shakeup is already making waves on social media. Incumbent starter Tyrod Taylor, pulled at the end of Sunday's blowout loss to New Orleans, has been officially benched, making way for rookie Nathan Peterman.
Was the general response sympathy for Tyrod? Excitement over the fifth round draft pick from Pittsburgh? Sardonic humor? (When is it not "sardonic humor"?)
Sweeping through Twitter, we took the temperature of Buffalo's legion of hot-take givers.
I am excited for Peterman but you can’t blame Tyrod. O line gave him no help at all. I’ll always support Tyrod, but like I said, I’m pumped to see Peterman play.

That'll show stupid Tyrod. Giving up 47 points.

I'm already excited to watch Tyrod play for Denver. Maybe they'll appreciate his suits more too

I mean in all fairness, Peterman COULD be the second coming of Brady

Don't know if starting Peterman will make the #Bills better, but it definitely has made them more interesting.

If Tyrod ever goes to a team that’s willing to build an offense around his unique skill set he’s going to be a star
— Joel Jackson (@jjjacks17) November 15, 2017
Sean McDermott maintains that Rick Dennison was receptive to modifying his offensive scheme to better fit Tyrod Taylor. #bills
— Nick Veronica (@NickVeronica) November 15, 2017
Maybe they're afraid that Lynn knows Tyrod too well!
— Jerry Sullivan (@ByJerrySullivan) November 15, 2017
#Bills already know what they have in Tyrod and it’s mediocrity. Might as well see if Peterman can be better than that and give the rookie a shot. Maybe he can at least find a 6’5” receiver.

Guys, I was not emotionally prepared to deal with this announcement 😱😱😱😂 For the record I really wanted Tyrod to be our guy prob just bc I like him as a person. Still holy 🤬 pic.twitter.com/ZmO3wT8Op0

Bills lose, Internet reaction: BENCH TYROD BRING OUT PETERMAN
McDermott: Tyrod’s our guy
Bills Internet, probably: BUT PETERMAN. NO PLAYOFFS IN 17 YEARS
McDermott, today: LOL JK, Peterman starts
Bills Internet, waiting, getting ready: FIRE EVERYONE#GoBills
— Dallan Lewis (@Flyinlewjr) November 15, 2017
Peterman may actually be better for this offense because Dennison is an idiot and didn’t build around Tyrod’s strengths. Unbelievably stupid.

Tyrod Taylor held Tristan Lambright’s pants and shirt for him on Sunday. https://t.co/9G0W6CzgXf

i’m not complaining, but i thought someone was very adamant that Tyrod is our starter & that wouldn’t change? 🤔
— champagne hev (@heathermariiex) November 15, 2017
Hopefully Peterman does a better job tossing the ball on stretch plays to Mike Tolbert
— Jeseph Meyers (@jesephm) November 15, 2017
Was surprised the Bills stuck with Tyrod Taylor back in the spring, from what folks were saying. Right move to see if Peterman can play before '18 draft but right now it all feels like another spin of the WNY QB carousel. And odd at 5-4.
— Tyler Dunne (@TyDunne) November 15, 2017
How does anyone believe a word out of McDermott after angrily stating Tyrod is his starter on Sunday? It was like the reporter insulted him by asking... and now this?
— Nick Lozanovski (@nick_lozanovski) November 15, 2017
I'm all for a new QB, but I can't help feeling Tyrod Taylor is like the girl with the nice personality who keeps getting tossed aside when the pretty new cheerleader walks in the room. https://t.co/B6arcmi5BN

And I’m a firm believer in where ever Tyrod goes next year, he’s going to ball out

Time to wip out the Peterman Bucket Hat!
