A woman suffered severe burns to her legs early Saturday morning in an apartment fire in the Wyoming County Village of Perry.
The woman, who is in her 30s, was flown by Mercy Flight to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, where she remains in the intensive care unit, said Anthony Santoro, the county's director of fire and emergency management.
She was the lone occupant of an apartment that caught fire at 4:11 a.m. in a building at 55 S. Main St. The building has 22 apartments in it, Santoro said in a news release. Firefighters evacuated residents from the other apartments until after the fire was put out.
