Rankings: Cleveland Hill is ranked No. 3 in the News Small Schools Poll and No. 3 in the New York State Sportswriters Poll. Cal-Mum/B-B is ranked 11th in the state.

Regional records: Cleveland Hill is 1-4. The Golden Eagles defeated Wayland-Cohocton (46-20) in 2013. They lost in 2000 to Caledonia-Mumford (14-3), 2007 to LeRoy (47-20), 2012 to Hornell (27-6) and 2016 to private school Bishop Kearney (40-38). As a combined outfit, this is Cal-Mum/Byron-Bergen's first regional appearance. However, Cal-Mum is one of the more successful programs in Section V history, having won 14 sectional titles as a solo outfit. Cal-Mum is 8-0 all-time in regionals.

Coaching records: Cleveland Hill’s Glen Graham, 14th season (102-35); Cal-Mum/B-B's Billy Donegan, second season at Cal-Mum/B-B (12-6); 20th overall (96-86).

Cleveland Hill key players and statistics: Jr. RB/LB Aaron Wahler (153-1380-20 TDs; 49 tackles, 2 INT), Sr. LB/RB Ryan Majerowski (77 tackles, 3 INT; 57-616, 6 TDs), Jr. RB Javon Thomas (35-725-6 TDs), Jr. DB/RB D'Mario Grant (50 tackles, 1 INT, 3 passes defensed; 43-211-2 TDs), So. LB Chris Diem (51 tackles, 3.0 sacks, 2 fumble recoveries, 1 INT).

C-M/B-B key players and statistics: Sr. QB Anthony Maye (35-72-585-4 TDs passing; 80-294-8 TDs rushing), So. RB Bryce Yockel (145-1352-13 TDs), Sr. RB Robert Stevens (64-390-5 rushing; 7-209-2 TDs receiving), Sr. LB Josh Platt (63 tackles, 1 INT, 1 TD), Sr. DE Ian Lenhardt (58 tackles).

How they got here: Cleveland Hill advanced to the state quarterfinal round of the postseason by winning its second straight Section VI championship, beating Southwestern, 42-16. Senior Ryan Majerowski rushed seven times for 207 yards and two touchdowns, including a sectional final record 99-yard TD run. Chris Diem returned an interception 63 yards for a touchdown, too, in the victory.

Cal-Mum/Byron-Bergen won its first sectional championship as a combined program by rallying from a 13-point fourth-quarter deficit to edge fellow state-ranked outfit East Rochester/Gananda, 27-26. Joe Butler returned a kickoff 86 yards for a touchdown. Then running back Bryce Yockel tossed the go-ahead touchdown pass, a 25-yard play to Lucas Stuccio. The Red Raiders rallied behind senior quarterback and teammate Anthony Maye, who played well but with a heavy heart five days after the tragic death of his sister in a car accident.

Pre-snap read: Cleveland Hill rushed for all but four of its 396 total yards in last week's triumph. That's the Golden Eagles' M.O., so don't expect that to change at this point. That doesn't mean they're unwilling to call the occasional pass play. Still, Wahler, Thomas and Majerowski should get the ball plenty of times against a Cal-Mum/B-B defense that has been taking the ball away during its postseason run. Red Raiders have won seven straight.

What’s next: The winner faces the Central Region champion, either III-Skaneateles or IV-Newark Valley, at 11 a.m. Nov. 18 at Union-Endicott High School.
