Inmate throws feces, charged with felony harassment

An inmate at Attica Correctional Facility was charged with aggravated harassment of an employee by an inmate, a felony, for allegedly throwing feces at a passing correctional officer and an inmate who was being escorted, State Police said.

The alleged incident took place on April 17.

The inmate, Luis Guzman, 28, is currently housed at Auburn Correctional Facility. He was also given a violation for second-degree harassment in the case.

Guzman was arraigned in Wyoming County before Judge Michael Mohun and was returned to the custody of the state Department of Corrections.

Guzman was convicted last year of first-degree manslaughter in New York City and was sentenced to a maximum of 18 years, according to state records.
