WIVB-TV (Channel 4) co-anchor Don Postles is returning to the air on Monday, General Manager Dominic Mancuso said today.
Postles has been off for several weeks with a medical issue that Mancuso previously said he wasn't been able to discuss because of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996, that protects the confidentiality of a person's medical information.
According to multiple sources, Postles broke a couple of ribs and that led to pneumonia and had to wait for his doctor's approval before returning to work.
"We've missed Don during his recovery but you can't keep a good man down," said Mancuso. "He's all healed up and ready to go and we look forward to his return.
"We also want to recognize Dave Greber for the solid job he did filling in for Don while he was recuperating."
