Downtown Buffalo restaurant burglarized

A burglar stole cash and two bottles of liquor early Monday morning from a downtown restaurant, according to a Buffalo police report.

The thief entered Deep South Taco, 291 Ellicott St., through an unlocked door at about 2:15 a.m., put some alcohol in a trash bin and damaged a cash register, according to the report.

He left after about 20 minutes and then came back about an hour later, broke a garage door window and opened two cash registers.

The suspect was described as a white male who had a full beard and was wearing a heavy winter jacket with a hood. The jacket had a large stain on the back, according to the report. He also wore blue or black pants and black sneakers.

The burglar left the scene at about 4:10 a.m.
