A Cheektowaga woman was charged with driving while intoxicated after she allegedly crashed a small SUV into a house on South Protection Road in Holland at about 7 p.m. Friday, the Erie County Sheriff's Office said.
When a deputy arrived at the scene, he saw the SUV had front-end damage and was wedged between a tree and the house. The house sustained foundation damage. The SUV had a flat tire and was operating on a rim.
A deputy said the driver showed signs of intoxication and failed field sobriety tests. A test showed her blood alcohol content was nearly twice the legal limit, sheriff's officials said.
Katherine Dudzik, 27, was charged with DWI, criminal mischief causing property damage greater than $250 and four traffic violations, the sheriff's office said. She was released to a sober third party with appearance tickets.
