Aldi in Depew will reopen Tuesday

Aldi will reopen its Depew store Tuesday after being closed for remodeling.

The store, at 4931 Transit Road in Depew, has been overhauled with the company's latest decor and layout concept.

Improvements include high ceilings and natural lighting as well as expanded produce, dairy and bakery sections. The remodel incorporated environmentally friendly components, including recycled building materials, energy-saving refrigeration and LED lighting.

It's the ninth Western New York Aldi to get a makeover, after stores in Amherst, Blasdell, Cheektowaga, Clarence, Dunkirk, West Seneca, Town of Tonawanda and Jamestown. The no-frills grocer said it will invest $1.6 billion in 1,300 stores across the country by 2020.
