John Murphy Show: Trae Elston says 'getting that start was a big moment for me'

ESPN host Trey Wingo joined John Murphy and Donald Jones on WGR-550 AM on Tuesday.

Wingo discussed the flurry of trades in the NFL in the past few days, the trust New England is putting into Tom Brady past year 40, the uptick in wideout production and other stories from around the league.

Safety Trae Elston also joined Murphy and Jones, and he talked about the importance of watching your body on a short week, his penchant for hitting hard on the field, getting his first NFL start against Oakland, Elston's stint on the cover of Sports Illustrated, and his view of the Jets receiving corps.

Bills insider Chris Brown opened the show, updating the practice statuses of Ramon Humber and some of the other injured Bills. Brown also discussed the importance of a short week and how a team prepares, given the lack of time for full-contact play.

Patriots play-by-play announcer Bob Socci joined the show near the end to discuss the Jimmy Garoppolo trade, as well as Tom Brady's view he can play until he's 45.

Audio was played of Tyrod Taylor, focusing on his confidence, playing in prime time on Thursday and the challenge of a short week. Additional audio of Jordan Poyer on his rehab and LSean McCoy on being seen as an underdog were played near the end of the episode.
