If Khalil Mack holds anything against Buffalo or the University at Buffalo, it wasn't apparent in "The NFL Today" feature that played before the game between Mack's Oakland Raiders and the Buffalo Bills.
The short feature played more like a commercial for Mack's favorite restaurant near UB, Elmo's, and its chicken wings than anything.
Mack was very positive about his Buffalo experience.
"The people of Buffalo are fun-spirited, loyal people, hard-working, blue-collar people and it was always a good time," said Mack.
He must not have wanted to say much else because that was the only sound bite in the feature that didn't address his love of Elmo's and its wings.
The rest of the feature contained praise of Mack from UB assisant athletic director Jon Fuller, the bar manager of Elmo's and the restaurant's customers.
One of the customers was unidentified former UB quarterback Joe Licata, now the coach of Timon.
Licata, who said he was a Raiders fan in a CBS promo, said people knew when Mack first walked on campus that he would be drafted and become a NFL player.
That's an optimistic take since Mack was red-shirted as a freshman and UB was his only scholarship offer.
Surely, few knew at the time that he eventually would be the subject of a "NFL Today" feature.
