West Side convenience store robbed at gunpoint of $1,100, cigarettes

Two men, one armed with a gun, robbed a West Side convenience store of cigarettes and $1,100 in cash Friday, Buffalo police reported.

A summary of the incident report doesn't say what time the robbery took place at the store at 490 Connecticut St., off Richmond Avenue, but it was logged into the police computer system by a report technician at 10:30 p.m. Friday.

Two men wearing black masks walked up to the store, an employee later told Central Ddistrict officers. One robber wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black sweatpants came into the store and pulled out a black handgun. He took 10 cartons of cigarettes and the cash while his partner, who wore a red hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants and gray shoes waited outside.

No one was injured in the robbery. The store has surveillance video of the incident.
