[BN] Blitz newsletter: Dareus shipped to Jacksonville

Brandon Beane and the Buffalo Bills found someone willing to take on all that contract.

The Bills traded their highest-paid player, Marcell Dareus, to Doug Marrone's Jaguars Friday night in exchange for only a sixth-round pick.

The move frees the Bills from Dareus' large salary and term, even if it leaves them with a significant dead cap hit next season.

The Bills now have only nine players on their 53-man roster that they drafted before this year and 22 left from a year ago. "Marcell Dareus was [the] biggest misfit among Bills' overachievers," Bucky Gleason wrote.

Here's a timeline of Dareus' tumultuous tenure in Buffalo. And here's the transcript of GM Brandon Beane's conference call Friday night.
