Bills re-sign running back Joe Banyard to fill spot on 53-man roster

The Bills re-signed running back Joe Banyard to the 53-man roster Saturday to fill the roster spot vacated by Marcell Dareus, who was traded Friday to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Banyard, who was signed in March and made the team out of training camp, was released Oct. 18 when the Bills signed wide receiver Deonte Thompson.

Banyard, a journeyman who has bounced around the NFL, played in two games earlier this season, seeing 41 snaps on special teams.

He would be fourth on the depth chart in the backfield behind LeSean McCoy, Mike Tolbert and Taiwan Jones.
