A two-family home occupied by nine people was damaged in a fire Friday afternoon in Buffalo's Riverside neighborhood.
The blaze at 46 Rano St., just east of Tonawanda Street, was discovered shortly before 12:30 p.m.
The fire began on the second floor and spread into the attic, according to the Buffalo Fire Department. Three people live in the downstairs unit, while six live in the upstairs unit. Everyone who was home at the time of the fire escaped safely out of the house.
Damage was estimated at $200,000 and the cause is under investigation.
