FRIOL, Patricia

FRIOL - Patricia Pat, 81 years old, died on October 24 in West Dover, Vermont. She was born to Clyde and Marion Telaak in Buffalo and had a younger brother, Robert. She enjoyed playing basketball and tennis but excelled at softball. In 1950, at the age of 13, Pat was the first girl to pitch a no-hit, no-run game in the history of the Western New York Softball Association. 10 years later she fell in love with Louis Friol, Jr. and was married at St Joseph's Church. They had a devout Catholic faith, wore scapulars and became Third Order Carmelites. They were blessed with seven sons and three daughters, to whom they passed on their strong faith as well as their love for sports. Pat enjoyed knitting, ceramics and listening to country music. In her later years, she took on the role of "prayer warrior" for the growing family she could no longer keep up with. She is survived by her 10 children: Louis lll, Mathew, Teresa, Daniel (Lisa), Peter (Ruth), Dolores Mitchell (Douglas, Div.), Michael (Anne), Julia Fusco (Thomas), David (Christine), Jason (Ashley) as well as 22 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
