The Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus is getting in the Halloween spirit with a unique twist on the holiday.
Children in costume and families living near the campus are invited to learn about medical research while playing Halloween games from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, in the University at Buffalo Downtown Gateway building, 77 Goodell St.
The free party will feature several Halloween-themed games related to medical research, including a "cookie clinical trial" and a microscope station in which budding scientists can identify samples of leaves, pumpkins, apples and other seasonal materials.
Trick-or-treaters that complete all the stations will receive prizes.
The party is hosted by the University at Buffalo's Clinical and Translational Science Institute and Patient Voices Network, a patient-empowerment partnership between UB's Department of Family Medicine and patients from local UBMD Family Medicine practices.
