Say Yes awarded $250,000 to expand careers program

Say Yes Buffalo has been awarded $250,000 to expand its internship and career pathways program.

The funding comes from the Citi Foundation, which works to promote economic progress in low-income communities.

"We are excited that the Say Yes program, with the help of the Buffalo Niagara Partnership, is working to reach its target goal of 50 Say Yes Scholars anointed as summer interns at a wide variety of WNY corporations," said Anthony Vazquez, Buffalo site president at Citi.

Say Yes provides free college tuition to Buffalo students, as well as programs such as its Internship and Career Pathways Program. The program offers students the chance to explore a variety of career opportunities, secure summer internships and obtain job-seeking skills.
