The Niagara Falls Water Board decided this week to offer customers a chance to pay overdue bills without penalties.
The break applies only to balances incurred this year, not to ones from previous years, which already have been added to the customer's property tax bills.
In order for the penalties to be waived, the balance must be paid in full by Nov. 10. The application for the break is available on NFWB.org, at the Water Board office at 5815 Buffalo Ave., or at the billing and collection office in City Hall.
Also this week, the Water Board announced that it has received a $240,000 state grant toward the $400,000 estimated cost of replacing a water main on Bollier Avenue from 82nd Street to Military Road.
