Defending-champ Maple Grove is still undefeated at 17-0. It didn't lose a game until the Far West Regionals last season. Silver Creek is a quality four seed with a 14-3 record. Holland (14-3) and Allegany-Limestone (16-1) have only lost to larger schools this season.
2. Boys soccer - Class AA semifinals at Sweet Home
It's an all ECIC I semifinal on Tuesday. Winners earn a spot in Saturday's 7 p.m. final back at Sweet Home.
- 2-Lancaster vs. 3-Williamsville North, 5 p.m.
- 1-Clarence vs. 5-Orchard Park, 7:30 p.m.
The Legends and Spartans split during the regular season, both winning on the road. North won first, 2-0, and Lancaster took a 2-1 game. The Red Devils won 5-0 and 1-0 games against the Quakers this season.
3. Girls volleyball - Lancaster at St. Mary's of Lancaster, 6 p.m.
The Lancers host the Legends in a nonleague rematch of the final from the St. Mary's of Lancaster Tournament final.
St. Mary's won in the third set of the best-of-three final. It lost the first game, 25-21, and won the last two by scores of 25-18 and 19-17. The Lancers were also without star player Summer Slade.
Lancaster swept Williamsville North to close out its ECIC I schedule. Julia Kowalczewski had 10 kills and three blocks, while Brianne Acquard added 11 digs.
4. Boys volleyball - Eden at Canisius, 6:30 p.m.
No. 2 Eden heads to No. 3 Canisius for a highly-ranked matchup.
It's a quick turnaround for the Raiders, who lost their first league game in about 10 years in a five-set loss to Maryvale yesterday. Top players on Eden include setter Gavin Musielak and hitters Drew Hesse and Collin Rigley. The Raiders host Orchard Park tomorrow in another nonleague tune-up.
The Crusaders have once again dominated their Monsignor Martin schedule. They were swept at No. 1 Lockport last Wednesday and lost to Frontier in the final of the Hamburg Tournament on Saturday. Troy Gooch, Matt Donnelly and Brian Herrmann are a few of the top players for Canisius, which hosts Clarence on Thursday.
- Girls swimming: Nardin vs. Sacred Heart, 7:15 p.m. at Buffalo State
