A billboard asking Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo to keep the Western New York Children's Psychiatric Center in West Seneca will be up at Seven Corners in Hamburg through Sunday.
The billboard is one of the final efforts in a campaign before a bill preventing the center's move to the Buffalo Psychiatric Center is sent to the governor for his signature or veto.
It is part of the campaign started by Assemblyman Mickey Kearns and Sen. Patrick Gallivan and supported by Assemblyman David DiPietro. The legislators collected nearly 15,000 signatures in favor of keeping the center in West Seneca. Hamburg Highway Superintendent Tom Best Sr.'s campaign paid for the billboard at the intersection of Southwestern Boulevard and McKinley Parkway.
It says, “Gov. Cuomo: Please keep the WNY Children’s Psychiatric Center OPEN. Sign the bill, Save the children.”
