The National will play a special event fundraiser at 3 p.m. Dec. 11 in the Town Ballroom (681 Main St.).
Last seen in Buffalo at Rockin' at the Knox alongside Rufus Wainwright back in 2010, the brooding five-piece's profile has skyrocketed since its last local show, graduating from clubs to arenas and festival headlining slots. The Town Ballroom gig may be as intimate of a performance as you will see out of the band these days, so put in for that half-day at work now.
Proceeds from the show will be donated to Buffalo String Works, a nonprofit organization which provides string instruments to refugee students.
The National is on the road in support of its latest critically acclaimed record "Sleep Well Beast."
Tickets are $60 in advance (don't expect any to be left at the door) and will go on sale at noon Oct. 27 (box office, Ticketfly or charge by phone at 877-435-9849). There is a two-ticket limit. Further event details can be found here.
