The Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus Inc. has hired Sam Marrazzo for a new post in its organization, as chief innovation officer.
Marrazzo, who brainstormed the idea to bring the 2017 Topcoder Open programming and data science competition to Buffalo, started in mid-September in his role with BNMC.
"It was an opportunity to work with the community, build a brand around innovation and really help companies and communities collaborate to drive more innovative approaches," Marrazzo said. "We're trying to change the dynamic in Buffalo and trying to become a data-driven organization."
Marrazzo, a Western New York native, previously worked the last two years as chief information officer for Superior Talent Resources, an Amherst employment agency. Prior to that, he worked 15 years at Praxair as director of technology solutions.
