A Genesee County man was accidentally shot in the arm Sunday evening while hunting, the Genesee County Sheriff's Office said Monday.
The 41-year-old Town of Pavilion resident, who was not identified by authorities, was treated at a Rochester area hospital following the 6:56 p.m. incident.
State environmental conservation officers determined that the man was probably shot by someone in a group that was target shooting about 500 yards away, the Sheriff's Office said. No charges have been filed against the four people in that group.
The investigation is continuing.
